IMS Dredges Continues to Expand Globally from 2012 to 2013

IMS Divison of LWT, LLC reports strong global expansion in Asia, Africa, and Latin America for 2012 going into 2013.

“Our reputation is growing fast globally and our clientele is confident in our documented successes with governments and private contractors,” says Ryan Horton, IMS Global Sales Director.

AFRICA:
In December 2012, a Nigerian company purchased six (6) IMS Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredges® from stock that shipped the same month. The units will assist with flood clean-up efforts and future flood mitigation projects. IMS is supplying onsite training by factory service technicians.

ASIA:
IMS continues to thrive in Asian markets across the board with a multitude of orders from various government and private sector buyers in SE Asia. IMS is also expanding its service capabilities in Asia with local partners to help service clients more rapidly.

LATIN AMERICA & THE CARIBBEAN:
IMS is pleased to announce that it has sold two (2) IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredges to a contractor in Colombia. The client visited an IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge at a canal maintenance project in Panama prior to finalizing their purchase with IMS. The two dredges will be used for a major government funded project for performing maintenance dredging on the Bogota River.

“Our hands on approach to solving our clientele’s complex problems and providing them with top notch after sales support coupled with our strong regional managers are allowing us to achieve rapid growth in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are a boots on the ground organization from the sales and service level all the way to our top executives,” says Horton.

In the Caribbean, IMS sold multiple dredge systems to Trinidad for flood prevention projects and a sand mining dredge in Barbados.

Other noteworthy dredge sales in the region include: Panama, Ecuador, and Mexico.

NORTH AMERICA:
Aside from IMS’s global expansion it is also focused on servicing its loyal US clientele like Merrell Bros. who just purchased their fourth IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge. IMS also delivered a Model 5012 HP Versi-Dredge for cleaning the lakes and canals in Brownsville, TX.

NEW PRODUCTS & TECHNOLOGY:

NEW IMS MODEL 4010 SERIES VERSI-DREDGE:
IMS is pleased to announce that one of the most popular dredge models of the 1980’s and 1990’s is coming back with an updated look and new configurations. The 4010 LP was made popular in the waste water industry in the 1980’s and early 1990’s and then in the late 1990’s it became the preferred marina maintenance dredge for small marina owners. As IMS segued out of the waste water market it focused on larger production models like the Model 5012 and 7012 which have become some of the most well recognized dredge models in the world. IMS has been working closely with some of its clients that require smaller dredges for narrow waterway environments or require a dredge that has a lower flow that can pump into low volume dewatering processes. IMS’s solution was to resurrect the Model 4010 Versi-Dredge and offer it in a 10 in. x 10 in. (254mm x 254mm) Low Pressure (LP) discharge system or a 6 in. x 6 in. (152mm x 152mm) High Pressure (HP) discharge system. The 4010 will come standard with the patented Starwheel Drive self-propulsion system as well as the alternate cable drive rigging system that allows the dredge to work in cement or polyethylene lined environments. The 4010 LP will be made available with the Razor Tooth Weedmaster Cutterhead. Both units in the 4010 Series will also be available in “DredgeEXTM” configurations which will allow the dredge to be shipped anywhere in the world using 40 ft. (12.2m) open top ocean containers to any container port in the world. This will reduce shipment time and freight costs for IMS’s growing global clientele. RAZOR TOOTH WEEDMASTER:
IMS is innovating new dredging technologies. The Dual Purpose IMS Model 5012 LP Dredger / Weed Harvester is the only dredging system in the world that can effectively cut and pump floating or emergent vegetation. The patented Razor Tooth Weedmaster® Cutterhead has been designed to cut thick mats of floating vegetation or tall, rooted vegetation that can exceed 3-4m in height. No other multi-purpose dredge in the world can pump vegetation with a centrifugal pump. Other multi-purpose dredgers can only use a back hoe arm with a weed rake (claw) that must use multiple loading barges for transporting the vegetation to shore and then an excavator must unload the barges before they go back to the dredger. This increases the labor and diesel fuel consumption by 2-3 times. The 5012 LP can simply cut and pump the vegetation up to 1km away with no support equipment.

SELF LAUNCHING & RETRIEVING VERSI-TRAILER:
Cranes can sometimes be difficult to come by in remote areas where dredging projects are likely to take place. That is why IMS has designed a unique trailer that can transport the dredge over road and be positioned at the bank of the waterway and launch the dredge and retrieve it without the use of a crane. No other dredging system on the market has a custom trailer that transports the dredge and can launch it without the use of a high capacity crane. This optional feature is built to European or American trailer spec requirements and includes a winch system, hydraulic tilt trailer, hydraulic roller deck system, remote control, and many additional features to insure a safe launch and retrieval.
