IMS Dredge Booster Pumps
IMS currently manufactures two models of dredge booster pumps. Both feature John Deere engines and impeller and volute cast from high chrome Gasite iron construction. Standard equipment on each includes heavy-duty steel skid, lockable engine enclosure, service water pump, and partial automation (throttle up / throttle down.)

The 1008 is an 8 in. (203 mm) unit producing 3,500 gpm (220 l/sec) at 140 ft TDH, powered by a John Deere 6068 rated 250 bhp. On both, the impeller and volute are cast from high-chrome Gasite iron for long life in abrasive slurry, and both sit on heavy-duty steel skids that fit inside an ocean container. Yes. IMS booster pumps are designed to be added inline to an existing dredge pipeline to extend its reach, and they can be matched to many existing dredge setups. This lets operators increase pumping distance without replacing their dredge. IMS will confirm compatibility with your current system.
The main dredge pump is submersible and ladder mounted behind the cutterhead on the dredge itself, where it creates the suction that lifts material from the bottom. A booster pump sits further along the pipeline and re-pressurizes the slurry so it keeps moving over long distances or uphill. The dredge pump starts the flow; the booster keeps it going.
