The IMS Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge® can excavate sand and sediments down to a depth of 9.1m (30 ft.) and pump it either through a conventional discharge line or through the IMS Broadcaster Discharge Attachment. The video below shows a 7012 HP Versi-Dredge® (2013 Model) in Southeast Asia using the Broadcaster to quickly deepen a navigation channel without using a de-watering site or a cumbersome pipeline. The Broadcaster is ideal for quick channel maintenance and restoration of canals where disposal of material from the Broadcaster has been proven by US government agencies to restore wetlands and provide vital nutrients.

A Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge uses its Starwheel Drive self-propulsion system to position itself into a new cut at a sea water intake lagoon in Saudi Arabia. The Starwheel Drive system allowed the contractor to dredge continually for 24 hrs. without having to shut down or go idle to reposition the dredge. Cable driven dredges were not an option for this project due to the 30 day time period. Self-propulsion was the only way to meet the demanding production requirements.

This year’s maintenance dredging cycle involved a pilot program to separate contaminants from the dredged material, generating reusable sand to replenish nearby beaches.
