Murjan Al-Sharq for Marine Services (MSMS) performs maintenance dredging at a major oil producer's sea water plant in Saudi Arabia. The 7012 HP was required to work 24 hrs. a day in two shifts in 120 degree heat.

A Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge is unloaded from a flatbed trailer at a sea water plant facility in Saudi Arabia. The entire dredge was launched in the water, ready to connect to the discharge line, and ready to start dredging in 5 minutes. All it took was a single crane and a harness that could attach to the 4 deck mounted lifting hooks on the Versi-Dredge that also act as mooring cleats. No assembly required.
   

IMS Dredger Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge®

A Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge uses its Starwheel Drive self-propulsion system to position itself into a new cut at a sea water intake lagoon in Saudi Arabia. The Starwheel Drive system allowed the contractor to dredge continually for 24 hrs. without having to shut down or go idle to reposition the dredge. Cable driven dredges were not an option for this project due to the 30 day time period. Self-propulsion was the only way to meet the demanding production requirements.

A California based dredge contractor purchased an IMS Dredger Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge® to perform a federal navigation channel open at Marina Del Rey in Los Angeles County.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District oversaw the dredge project and approved use of the IMS Dredger Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge® for the work.

This year's maintenance dredging cycle involved a pilot program to separate contaminants from the dredged material, generating reusable sand to replenish nearby beaches.
