IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge

Two model 5012LP Versi-Dredges, dredge silt and vegetation from a lake restoration project in Vancouver Canada. The contractor chose the IMS Versi-Dredge for the job due to its versatility and productivity.

IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge

A dredge contractor in the U.S. uses an IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge to pump sand 1,600 ft. to the discharge area. The 5012 LP dredger is the smallest dredging system that IMS manufacturers yet it shows how agressive and productive even the smallest IMS system is.

A Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge dredges sand from a sand pit in Michigan. The contractor chose the Versi-Dredge due to its ease of mobility from one site to another and its excellent production in sand applications. Note the high production level.

IMS Dredger Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead and Weed Rake

An IMS Dredge Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead and Weed Rake cut through large mats of water hyacinths at a huge lake in Mexico. The Weed Rake provides the Weed Master Cutterhead with a constant feed of hyacinths to maximize production. The Weedmaster cust the vegetation into 3-5 inch pieces and then pumps them up to 1 kilometer or more away.

The Weedmaster allows the dredge to be converted into a high production weed harvester system. The dredge can continually cut and pump vegetation and never stop to unload unlike inefficient conveyor type harvesters that require a hopper, transport barges, and shore conveyors to unload.

An IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge with the Weedmaster Cutterhead cuts through extremely dense water tussocks comprised of reeds, cattails, and small bushes.

IMS Dredger Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Broadcaster Attachment and Standard Cutterhead

An IMS Dredge Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge cuts a channel through the center of a silted up canal system in the U.S. Midwest. The IMS Versi-Dredge Broadcaster system sprays the slurry to the shoreline and fertilizes nearby wetlands. Broadcasting in the dredging process been discussed as a positive process for fertilizing wetlands with nutrient rich soils.

An IMS 5012 LP Versi-Dredge with Weedmaster Cutterhead cuts through thick vegetation.  Once the weed cover was removed from the lake, the contractor installed the standard Versi-Dredge Excavator Cutterhead and deepened the lake several meters.

An IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead & Broadcaster Discharge Attachment cut a clear channel through a dense field of cattails at Edwards Airforce Base in California.

IMS Dredger Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead & Broadcaster Discharge Attachment

An IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead & Broadcaster Discharge Attachment broadcasts chopped cattails up to 75 feet away.  The system never has to stop to unload like a conveyor harvester and it can control where the discharge is sprayed unlike shredding systems that just spew material dangerously in every direction

IMS Dredger Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead & Broadcaster Discharge Attachment

An IMS Model 5012 LP Versi-Dredge w/ Weedmaster Cutterhead & Broadcaster Discharge Attachment cuts down and digests very tall cattails and reeds.  Note that the Weedmaster can cut all the way down to the root mass where a conveyor harvester can only go down to a limited depth and cut only part of the stem off.  Using the Weedmaster slows down and in many cases eliminates the regrowth of vegetation since the root mass can be removed.
