Imperial Reservoir-- The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has begun dredging a 50-acre open water area of Imperial Reservoir just upstream of Imperial Dam. Dredging operations are expected to run 24 hours a day Mondays through Saturdays. The project is scheduled to be completed in 12 to 15 months

Port Hope Harbour Dredging Starts Soon (Canada)
The sign at the entrance to Port Hope's harbour advising boaters that the harbour is temporarily closed is expected to come down soon. Councillor Ted Watts, chair of the municipality's parks, recreation and culture department, says that, in the next few weeks, a dredging machine will be brought in to clear approximately 5,000 cubic metres of silt and sand away, allowing boaters to use the facilities in Port Hope.

Sand Dredged from Cobourg Harbour Will be Moved to Victoria Beach (Canada)
Money has already been made on the harbour dredger this year, said Ross Dudley, special projects consultant with the town of Cobourg. He says last year's purchase has made money on two projects already. At present the dredger, with the aid of GPS guided software, is working through a grid pattern that will result in a full 12-foot deep entrance to the Cobourg harbour.

Cobourg harbour (Canada): Dredging set to begin this week
Doug Chadwick of Chadwick's Towing, using a remote control device, lowers the Town of Cobourg's Versa Dredger into the Cobourg Harbour on Wednesday afternoon, April 7, in preparation of dredging the mouth of Cobourg harbour. The dredger can pump 231 liters of sand and water per second. The mixture is pumped onto the Cobourg beach with the help of some of the 2,300 feet of 10-inch pipe.

Cobourg (Canada) Dredger Starts Paying For Itself
The dredger that Councillor Bob Spooner has dubbed Captain Cobourg has begun to pay for itself, he announced at last week's council meeting. "Captain Cobourg is in the Whitby harbour, doing its first dredge job," Spooner said. "It's getting its indoctrination into the Lake Ontario dredging business." "Part of the reason our council pursued that was that we felt we could go to other harbours and get revenue to offset the cost," Mayor Peter Delanty reminded everyone.
